Wine-Specific Conditions
Legal Requirements
You must be 21 years of age or older, to purchase, place an order, or receive alcoholic beverages from Lafond Winery/Santa Barbara Winery. By Federal Law, receipt of shipments containing alcoholic beverages requires the signature of a sober adult (a person 21 years of age or older who is not intoxicated). We also cannot ship to P.O. boxes due to signature requirements.
Credit Card Charges
Orders are by credit card only. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Warm Temperature Month Warning
Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine may be adversely affected due to extreme temperatures during shipment. Lafond Winery/Santa Barbara Winery is not responsible for, and will not replace wine that has been damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. When your wine order is placed, we will monitor the temperatures in your area to ensure optimal shipping conditions. A weather hold may be placed on your order until temperatures reach safe levels again.
States Authorized for Direct Shipment
Due to legal restrictions on shipments of wine and other alcoholic beverages, we are only permitted to ship wine within the United States. Additionally, we cannot ship to the following states: AL | AK | HI | KY | MS | ND | SD | UT. The tax or use tax may be charged in each applicable state, as determined by state and local laws of the customer and Lafond Winery/Santa Barbara Winery.
All wine orders must be placed by a person 21 years of age or older. Verification of age is required upon delivery. We recommend using a business or workplace address to facilitate delivery of your purchase to ensure that your shipment is not returned. Wine will not be delivered to a visibly intoxicated person. Failure to produce age verification forfeits the right to receive the shipment until identification is produced. All associated costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
After unsuccessful attempts to deliver your wine, and the wine is returned to the winery, your account will be charged all return and reshipping fees. We make every effort to communicate our shipping dates in advance to our valued customers to ensure successful delivery.
Shipping Costs
All wine orders are shipped via Fed Ex or UPS couriers. All wine ships for a flat rate of $18.00, ground delivery timing around 3 to 7 days. Wine shipments must be signed by someone 21 years or older. We recommend using a workplace address to ensure timely delivery. *Typically, 3 attempts will be made to deliver your package before it is returned to the winery, but timing is subject to location and courier. Please include any special shipping requests or instructions with your order.
Government Warning
(1) According to the Surgeon General, women should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects. (2) Consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery, and may cause health problems.
WARNING: Drinking distilled spirits, beer, coolers, wine and other alcoholic beverages may increase cancer risk, and, during pregnancy, can cause birth defects.
