2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir
Sta. Rita Hills

Sustainability in Practice Certified Wine

Winemaker Bruce Mcguire uses Pinot Noir grapes from Burning Creek Ranch for the Sta. Rita Hills Rosé. One of California’s smaller AVAs, Sta. Rita Hills, is located in the corridor between the Purisima Hills and Santa Rosa Hills.

Burning Creek Ranch produces bright fruit with fully-developed flavors. These vines are grown across a blend of river deposited soils from the Santa Ynez River. The delicate Pinot Noir grapes benefit from morning fog and consistent offshore breeze. This wine retains its bright high-tones as it is fermented in stainless steel.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2020 Sta. Rita Hills Rose of Pinot Noir is a lush cranberry color. Aromas of strawberry, rose and rhubarb jump out of the glass. The wine’s bright color is contrasted by delicate flavors of watermelon, subtle cranberry, and hibiscus. Light-bodied with nice acidity, drink alongside Greek fare, anything with pesto, or sauteed asparagus.

Winemaker Notes
The 2020 Rosé clonal composition is 40% clone 23, 32% 2A, 28% clone Pommard. Picking was based on field ripeness and having enough to fill the press. The fruit is destemmed and receives overnight skin contact prior to pressing. Flavor and color are intensified and succulent fruit results.
